Iowa State University’s College of Engineering puts on a great fair every year showcasing all the study, internship and world opportunities available to engineering students. In January 2010, they released this video, “Engineering Internationally” where students, faculty and representatives from major corporations — like John Deere — commented on the importance of going abroad. Another Iowa institution, University of Iowa, has also made a short video for engineering students explaining why it’s important to spend part of an engineering education abroad.
Many engineering schools recognize the importance of international education. Some — like University of Michigan, Michigan State University, Brown University, Washington University and University of Pennsylvania — even have offices and personnel devoted to sending engineering students abroad!
